If our Mission answers the question, “What has God called us to do?”, our Vision answers the question, “If we are faithful to that Mission, where will it lead us?” Think of a vision as something off in the distance that you will eventually reach if you keep traveling down the path you are on. So, what will be the result 5, 10, or 20 years down the road if we succeed in glorifying God by making disciples who make disciples?
Our Vision is to see multiplication take place on every level: disciples, leaders, Missional Communities, and churches.
Our Vision is driven by our Mission. This means that if we will faithfully and consistently stay on course and keep obeying Jesus, we will see disciples, leaders, Missional Communities, and churches, not just added, but multiplied. At The Bridge we believe God has called every Christian to be “in the game.” There are no spectator Christians. All believers are either players or player-coaches (pastors), but all believers are to participate, according to their gifting, in making disciples. That’s why we believe that multiplication, not addition, is the goal.
Our Vision is not to get a lot of people to attend church meetings. Now we are all for gathering. It is commanded in Scripture and it is critical for our spiritual health, but that is not the point. The point is to equip believers for the work of ministry which is to go and make disciples out of people who are not yet followers of Jesus. Our point in gathering together is to be equipped so that we can scatter to make disciples throughout the week.
We love Jesus and the people of Rancho Cordova and desire for God to use us to bring spiritual blessing and transformation to our city. No single church can accomplish this great task, but we want to do our part to plant churches and see gospel transformation take place by living as missionaries among our people. Our dream at The Bridge is not just to plant a church. Rather it is to become part of a disciple-making, church-planting movement. Come join us and see this dream become reality!
